On the 40th day, Ukraine defends itself from Russian occupiers. During this time, more civilians were killed by the enemy than in military battles.
The Russian occupiers could launch an offensive in eastern Ukraine, in the direction of Severodonetsk, the next day. This was announced on Sunday, April 3, with information on the operation of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The General Staff noted that in the directions of Donetsk and Tauride, the enemy continued to focus its main efforts on capturing the communities:

In addition, the Russian occupiers were preparing for an offensive, which could begin the next day in the direction of Severodonetsk and Bolshaya Novoselka.

In the direction of Polesye, the enemy is completing regrouping and preparations for the redeployment of individual units from Belarus to the Russian Federation.
According to available information, separate units of the occupiers ’airborne troops were being transferred by military aircraft to the city of Belgorod.
To slow down the advance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the occupiers carried out extensive chaotic mining not only in the formerly occupied positions and areas on the terrain, but also in the means of advancement.
Under Slobozhansky’s direction, the enemy continued to intercept Kharkov, conducting artillery strikes in residential areas of the city and trying to regroup troops.
In the direction of Izyum, the invaders tried to continue the offensive, but they were unsuccessful.
Recall, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that crimes committed by Russia in Bucha and other suburbs of Kyiv should be called acts of genocide and investigated as such.
Bucha mayor Anatoly Fedoruk said 280 people were buried in mass graves in the city.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation does not acknowledge its military atrocities in Bucha, Kiev region, and ensures that during the occupation of the city, not a single local resident suffered from the violent action.
