Zelensky: Trump doesn’t really know how to stop the war

The Ukrainian leader believes that the possible “Trump plan” announced by Vance will be a terrible idea if anyone actually implements it.

President Vladimir Zelensky said he does not take Republican US vice-presidential candidate JD Vance’s statements about Donald Trump’s “peace plan” seriously. He said this in an interview with The New Yorker, published on Sunday, September 22.

Zelensky recalled how Trump avoided answering during the debate whether he wanted Ukraine to win. Then he just said that he wanted the war to end.

“He says he wants the war to end. Well, so do we. These phrases and desires unite the world. But the terrible question is: who will bear the costs of ending the war? some that the Minsk agreements stopped or stopped military actions to a certain point but they also gave the Russians an opportunity to better arm themselves and strengthen their false claims on our occupied territory,” Zelensky said.

In his opinion, Trump doesn’t really know how to stop the war. Zelensky considers his vice presidential candidate, JD Vance, too radical. And Vance’s assumptions about the “Trump plan” are actually inviting Ukraine to cede territory.

“His message appears to be that Ukraine must make a sacrifice. This brings us back to the question of the cost and who bears it. The idea that the world must end this war at the expense of Ukraine is not acceptable,” he stressed. He.

Zelensky added that he does not consider the announced concept a peace plan. “It’s a terrible idea, if someone really implements it, to force Ukraine to bear the costs of ending the war by giving up its territories,” Zelensky said.

Vance must clearly understand that as soon as trade begins on the territory of Ukraine, there will be a surrender of American interests in other areas.

“For us, these are dangerous signals coming from a potential vice president… I don’t take Vance’s words seriously, because if this is the plan, then America is moving towards a global conflict,” concluded Zelensky.

Let’s remember that, according to Vance, Trump’s “peace plan” may come down to freezing the war on the demarcation line and the non-aligned status of Ukraine.

As reported, Zelensky recently announced the readiness of the victory plan. He will give it to Joe Biden, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.
