Ukraine and its Western allies are discussing “what else may be needed” to help Kyiv on the battlefield, other than trying to hold a front line that is under intense pressure in the east.
British Foreign Secretary David Lemmy said sensitive talks are ongoing at the White House about allowing Ukraine to use Storm Shadow missiles to strike Russia as the community expects the war to deepen. The Guardian writes about this on Sunday, September 22.
Speaking at the Labor Party conference in Liverpool, Lemmy said the hardships and challenges of the war in Ukraine will be “deeper and more brutal”, especially towards the end of 2025-2026.
“Therefore, this is a critical time for courage, courage, patience and courage on behalf of allies supporting Ukraine,” he said.
Lemmy added that Ukraine and its Western allies are discussing “what else might be needed” to help Kyiv on the battlefield, other than trying to hold a front line that is under intense pressure in the east.
“As Foreign Secretary, I certainly do not intend to comment on operational details, because it will only help Putin,” he explained, apparently referring to the issue of Storm Shadow missiles “However, there is now a discussion between the allies about how we can support Ukraine, especially, in preparation for winter.”
As already written, Britain allowed Ukraine to fire Storm Shadow missiles into the Russian Federation.
Earlier, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer instructed the country’s National Security Council to develop a plan for expanded support for Ukraine.
