The former US president said he would “love” to go to another debate with Harris, but “the votes are out” and his opponent is “losing badly.”
US presidential candidate Donald Trump declined CNN’s invitation to a televised debate with Democrat Kamala Harris after she agreed to host it. He said this on Saturday, September 21, during an election event in North Carolina, reports The Hill.
“He’s had one debate. I’ve had two. It’s too late to have another. I would, kind of, but it’s too late. The votes are in,” Trump said.
Harris “had the opportunity to do it at Fox,” he said.
“You know, Fox invited us, and I waited and waited, but they said no. They said no, and now he wants to have a debate on CNN before the election because he’s losing so badly,” the candidate said.
As reported, US Vice President Kamala Harris on Saturday accepted CNN’s invitation to the upcoming October 23 debate and called on Republican opponent Donald Trump to do the same.
It will be remembered that the first debate between Trump and Harris took place on September 10. According to a CNN poll, 63% of respondents believed that Harris won the debate. 37% of Americans believe Trump won the previous debate.
