JSC Antonov expects next year to confiscate the Russian An-124 cargo plane and begin the process of transferring it to Ukraine, reports Economic Pravda, citing its own sources in the company.
The management of Antonov expects that the proceedings in Canada for the confiscation of the Russian aircraft will last another six months, after which the Canadian government will recover the ship for its own benefit, examine it and transfer it to Ukraine as military aid.

The Russian An-124 Ruslan was stranded at an airfield in Canada in February 2022 when the country closed its skies to Russian aircraft. The owner of the Volga-Dnepr company, which owns the plane, was subjected to government sanctions. Under Canadian law, his property can now be confiscated.
In June of this year, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau again promised to transfer Russian aircraft to Ukraine. At the same time, Germany does not yet have a mechanism for confiscating the three Russian An-124 Ruslans stuck at their airport in Leipzig.
Let’s remember that the Antonov company postponed the continuation of the world’s largest aircraft, the Dream, until the post-war period.
