A Robinson R66 helicopter crashed in the Amur region of Russia. There was a pilot and two passengers on board. Russian media reported this on Tuesday, September 17.
The event took place on September 16 around 21:00 near the village of Zelenaya Gora. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation reported that the helicopter’s emergency beacon was activated. A Mi-8T helicopter of the Federal Air Transport Agency took off to search for the aircraft.
According to information from social networks, the missing Robinson R66 helicopter belongs to the gold mining company Hergu. He was making an unregistered flight.
“There was a pilot and two passengers on board… the missing people were working for Khergu LLC, one of the leaders in the mining of alluvial precious metals in the region. The board itself is owned by the company,” wrote Amur Mash.
The fate of the crew is still unknown. The search is being carried out by two ground teams of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, cars, all-terrain vehicles and a helicopter. A criminal case was opened in the disappearance of the plane.
