Rescuers and local authorities are reporting several sources of fire. Smoke from the fire can be seen in Poltava.
In the Poltava region, the elimination of a large forest fire in an area of about 100 hectares continues. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported this on Sunday, September 15.
It is indicated that the fire broke out in the forest near the village of Malaya Pereshchepina in the Poltava region.
Rescuers received a notification about the fire at 4:40 pm.
As of 11:37 pm, rescuers and forestry workers are still working at the scene.
As Suspilne wrote, referring to the press secretary of the regional rescuers, Svetlana Rybalko, the Makukhovskaya landfill and the forest in Novi Sanzhary are burning in the region.
“The forest is burning strongly, so the residents of Poltava can also see smoke from there. Many rescuers went to the fire site in Novi Sanzhary,” said Rybalko.
According to him, on September 15, a large number of fires were recorded in the Poltava region.
Today in the Poltava region there are about 20 fires in open areas. Fires were also recorded near Gorbanovka, Rassoshenets and the village of Vatazhkovo,” said Svetlana Rybalko.
As the secretary of the Poltava City Council Ekaterina Yamshchikova reported on her Telegram channel, the landfill in Makkhovka was occupied at about 18.30. A gust of wind helps spread the fire. The ignition area is approximately 100 square meters.
As we have already written, in Studenka, Izyumsky district, as a result of a huge fire that spread from the forest to the village, 308 houses were completely destroyed or damaged.
We would like to add that in the Luhansk region, near the temporarily captured Severodonetsk, a forest was burned due to shelling by Russia, and more than 80 households were burned.
