Setting up production of its own 155 mm artillery shells has long been an important goal for Ukraine.
Ukraine began its own production of 155 mm artillery shells. Presidential Adviser on Strategic Issues Alexander Kamyshin said this in an interview with the Norwegian publication Nettavisen, published the previous day.
According to him, establishing the production of its own 155 mm artillery shells has long been an important goal for Ukraine.
“It’s a very complicated process, and it’s something that Ukraine has never done before, but we started our own production of 155 mm artillery shells,” he said.
Kamyshin claims that while he was in charge of the Ministry of Strategic Industry, defense production in Ukraine doubled.
“By the end of the year, it will be triple, we keep moving forward,” he assured.
Let’s recall that in December 2023, Kamyshin said that Ukraine agreed with two American companies on the joint production of 155 mm caliber shells on its own territory.
It was also learned that Ukraine is producing artillery systems according to NATO standards and has doubled the production of ammunition.
