Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US presidential candidate Donald Trump had a telephone conversation in July.
The details of the conversation have only just become known. Trump “was supportive” and promised to “be very supportive of Ukraine.” Zelensky wants to share his plan for victory with the Republican Party representative, because it would be interesting to hear his reaction. The Ukrainian leader said this in an interview with CNN.
He was very supportive, we had a good conversation… He understands how hard it is to survive during war. So I want to share this plan to hear his reaction,” he said.
Zelensky also said he did not understand what Trump meant when he said he was ready to end the war in Ukraine within a few days, even before taking office as president if he was elected.
My position is this: the election period and the statements made during this period are pre-election statements. Sometimes they are not very realistic, – the Ukrainian leader noted.
Recall that the US vice-presidential candidate from the Republican Party James DeVance explained what Donald Trump’s peace plan means for Ukraine. He emphasized that the current demarcation line between Russia and Ukraine should become a very heavily fortified demilitarized zone so that the aggressor country does not invade there again.
