Ukraine is one of the most desirable countries in the world. Approximately 156 thousand sq. km of the territory of our state is still potentially dangerous due to possible mining as a result of the fear of the Russian Federation.
In the Kherson region, a local resident died while trying to remove a mine from a field. The head of the Kherson regional military administration, Alexander Prokudin, announced this on Friday, September 13, on his Telegram channel.
He noted that the tragedy occurred at about 18.00 on Friday.
It was learned that the deceased man was 47 years old. Doctors fought for the victim’s life until the end.
“The victim was taken to the hospital with wounds to the chest, face, arms and legs. Unfortunately, he died from his injuries. The doctors fought for his life until the end,” wrote Prokudin.
The head of the Kherson military administration called on Ukrainians not to touch dangerous objects and call the State Emergency Service or the National Police.
“I appeal to the residents of the region: if you encounter a dangerous search, move away at a safe distance. Call the rescuers or the police,” added the head of the OVA.
According to the State Emergency Service, as of December 2023, 277 people have been killed in Ukraine since the start of a full-scale war due to mine explosions or other explosive objects. In addition, 608 people were injured, 74 of them children.
Rescuers report that a third of Ukraine’s total area is potentially dangerous due to mining.
We remind you that a 34-year-old tractor driver was blown up by a mine in a field near the village of Mirolyubovka, Kherson region. He suffered concussion, blast and traumatic brain injuries.
Earlier it was reported that in the village of Staritsa, Kharkov region, during an independent evacuation in a forest belt, nine civilians were detonated on a Russian tripwire. Three of them died and six were injured.
