Brazil and China are calling for peace talks between Russia and Ukraine involving the two countries, calling such a move “the only way to resolve the crisis in Ukraine.”
The six-point Chinese proposal to resolve the “Ukraine crisis” does not complement the Ukrainian Peace Formula and does not provide support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Robert Wood, Deputy Permanent Representative of the United States to the UN, stated this on Friday, September 13, writes Ukrinform.
“China’s six-point plan will set a dangerous precedent. We are not here to reward those who violate the UN Charter,” Wood said.
The diplomat emphasized that the fastest path to peace for Russia is the withdrawal of its troops from Ukraine and the cessation of air attacks on its territory.
Wood also noted that Beijing is supporting Russia’s aggression because of what it calls a “partnership without restrictions” and its large-scale support of Russia’s defense industry, which allows Russia to continue its war in Ukraine.
China supplies Russia with dual-use materials such as weapon parts, equipment and raw materials. These supplies include nitrocellulose, mechanical equipment, microelectronics, optics, drones and cruise missile technology used by Russia to attack civilians and destroy Ukraine’s infrastructure. How can China be a proponent of peace if it allows Russia to fight?” Wood insisted.
In addition, he said that China is helping Russia spread propaganda and disinformation about Ukraine, justifying the war on “legitimate security grounds.” The American diplomat stressed that “Russia’s actions in Ukraine have no legal justification.”
Let’s remember that President Vladimir Zelensky called to destroy the “peace plan” of China and Brazil to end the war in Ukraine, which was started by Russia.
Meanwhile, Brazil and China are promoting their so-called “peace plan” called the Six-Point Political Resolution to the Ukraine Crisis, whose main principles are favorable to the Kremlin.
