The NATO Joint Center will not only help implement methods, strategies and standards, but also enrich Ukraine with experience.
Poland hosted the first high-level meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training and Education Center (JATEC), the first joint NATO-Ukraine institution aimed at strengthening the capabilities of the Defense Forces and accelerating the process of entering the Alliance. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense.
The purpose of JATEC is to achieve the intercompatibility of security and defense institutions of Ukraine with the corresponding institutions of the Alliance, improve the quality of training, increase the analytical component and training of personnel.
The decision to create JATEC was approved at the NATO summit in Washington in July 2024, and the center was deployed in the Polish city of Bydgoszcz.
According to Deputy Defense Minister Stanislav Haider, the NATO joint center will not only help Ukraine implement methods, strategies and standards, but also share the experience gained.
The de jure parties confirmed the creation of the center and outlined the main tasks, structure, roles and responsibilities of the management team. It is expected that the construction of the center should be formally completed by October-November this year.
Another subject of the negotiations is the assurance of the work of the center, especially the need to provide resources from NATO for the implementation of activities and the development of an information and communication network.
Representatives of Ukraine and NATO also agreed on the need to quickly launch projects within the framework of JATEC activities. The Ukrainian side provided a list of 70 projects for joint work and suggested which of them should be a priority.
We remind you that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken confirmed the irreversible movement of Ukraine towards NATO membership and noted the importance of introducing appropriate reforms in the country.
