On the night of today, September 12, Russian invaders carried out another large-scale air attack on Ukraine.
This was reported by the press service of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is noted that as of 9:00, 69 enemy air attack weapons were recorded:
- the occupiers struck Chernihiv region with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles from the Kursk region and one Kh-59/69 guided air missile from the Bryansk region;
- two Kh-22/32 cruise missiles from Tu-22M3 aircraft (from the airspace over the Black Sea in the direction of Zmeiny Island);
- 64 Shahed-type attack UAVs (launch areas Kursk (RF), Yeysk (RF) and Chauda in occupied Crimea).
The enemy air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, mobile fire groups and electronic warfare units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces:
- As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, 44 attack UAVs were shot down;
- Three enemy drones flew back to Russia;
- another four drones were lost in their locations on the territory of Ukraine (there was no information about casualties or damage);
- As of 9:00 a.m., four more attack drones remained in Ukrainian airspace;
- Thanks to the active counteraction of the Defense Forces, most of the enemy missiles did not reach their desired targets.
Air defense was in operation in the Kyiv, Kherson, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Sumy, Dnepropetrovsk, Kirovograd, Zaporizhia and Poltava regions, the Air Force noted.
