During the period of full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russian occupiers committed 137 thousand war crimes and there should be no fewer sentences for them.
This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the high-level international conference “United for Justice. Responsibility for attacks on civilian objects,” the Ukrinform agency reports.
137 thousand – that is how many war crimes Russia has committed so far. This is what is known. Crimes against peace and humanity, against our state, against our people, against Ukraine and Ukrainians. And this means that there should be no fewer sentences, Zelensky emphasized.
Addressing the conference participants, Zelensky emphasized that the word “justice” sounds different in different languages of the world, but should be perceived the same everywhere.
Every nation understands the price of justice. In every state that truly respects human life and international law, there simply cannot be no justice. I would like to emphasize that in every state, regardless of how its national legislation is written, what international treaties it has ratified, and whether the Rome Statute has entered into force on the territory of that state, he added.
