Ukraine needs concrete action from allies—a collective decision to use partner air defenses to shoot down Russian missiles and drones.
Newly appointed Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga called on Ukraine’s partners and allies to “take action” after the Russian drone incidents in Romania and Latvia. He revealed this on platform X on Sunday, September 8.
Today, Russian drones destroyed vast expanses of Romania and Latvia. This is a prediction: the aggressive actions of the Russian Federation will go beyond the borders of Ukraine. The collective support of the allies aims to provide maximum support to Ukraine simultaneously, to stop the aggression of the Russian Federation, protect life and maintain peace in Europe

“Today, Russian drones violated the airspace of Romania and Latvia This is a reminder: the aggressive actions of the Russian Federation have exceeded the borders of Ukraine The collective response of the allies must be maximum support for Ukraine now end Russian aggression, protect lives and maintain peace in Europe,” Sigaga said.
To do this, he added, Ukraine needs concrete action from the allies – a collective decision to use the air defenses of the partners to shoot down Russian missiles and drones in Ukraine, stronger and faster military aid to Ukrainian soldiers, and lifting restrictions on the use of Ukrainian weapons .
“Act now. A country protected from aggression in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter cannot be limited in its protection. International law allows Ukraine to strike legitimate military targets on the territory of the Russian Federation. Allow Ukraine to strike and protect lives,” he urged Siga.
We remind you that on September 5, the Verkhovna Rada appointed First Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Sibiga as the head of the Foreign Ministry instead of Dmitry Kuleba, who the day before wrote a letter of resignation and was dismissed when earlier that day. Sibiga’s candidacy was officially nominated by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
Following this, Sibiga said that the policy on Ukrainians abroad will change.
