On August 26, Russian military forces conducted one of the largest coordinated air attacks across Ukraine since February 2022.
In August, at least 184 civilians were killed and 856 others were injured in Ukraine as a result of Russian attacks. The UN monitoring mission reported this on Friday, September 6.
“In August alone, 184 civilians were killed and 856 injured, the second highest monthly toll in 2024 after July,” the report said.
The head of the mission, Daniel Bell, emphasized that targeted attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure have led to long-term power outages across the country, while recent attacks have destroyed or damaged hospitals, schools, supermarkets and critical energy infrastructure.
The UN report indicates that on August 26, Russian military forces launched one of the largest coordinated air attacks across Ukraine since February 2022. As a result, eight civilians were killed and at least 23 were injured, and no at least twenty-five energy facilities were damaged in 15 regions of Ukraine.
On August 30, aerial bombs hit four districts of Kharkov, killing six civilians and injuring at least 44.
On September 1, a rocket attack in Kharkov killed a medical worker and wounded at least 11 civilians.
On September 4, multiple weapons attacks killed seven civilians and wounded 62 in Lviv, the first incident of civilian casualties in the city since February 2024.
We remind you that the Russians have launched a missile attack on Lvov. The hits occurred in the central part of the city. Due to the shooting, seven people died and 53 were injured.
Meanwhile, the death toll has risen to 53 as a result of the Russian strike on a training center in Poltava. There may still be victims under the rubble.
