The European Commission has decided to send 300 million euros from the proceeds of frozen Russian assets to France in 2024.
The funds will be used to quickly purchase priority weapons for Ukraine from the French industry – ammunition, artillery and anti-aircraft weapons. This was reported by the press service of the French Ministry of Defense.
This is an opportunity to further expand French industry in support of Ukraine, the department notes.
It is noted that France, together with other EU member states, is taking part in the implementation of a new program of support for Ukraine within the framework of the European Peace Fund, which provides for the use of a total of 1.4 billion euros from proceeds from Russian assets to purchase military equipment for Ukraine.
