Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Germany on Friday, September 6.
The head of state will take part in a meeting of the Contact Group on the Defense of Ukraine at the Ramstein Air Base, meet with the US and German Defense Ministers Lloyd Austin and Boris Pistorius, as well as German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. The president reported this on Telegram.
We need our partners’ determination and resources to stop Russian air terror. We need all the weapons from the already announced support packages to finally reach combat brigades. And we need strong long-range solutions from our partners to bring the just peace we seek closer, the statement said.
After that, the Ukrainian president will visit Italy, where he will meet with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Zelensky is also scheduled to participate in the Ambrosetti International Economic Forum.
Let us recall that the allies view Volodymyr Zelensky’s participation in the Rammstein meeting as Ukraine’s attempts to provide the necessary volumes of weapons to counter Russian aggression, and in particular, to push partners to supply so-called long-range weapons and consent to use them against targets deep in Russian territory.
