The National Association will not participate in the new French government, Marine Le Pen emphasized.
French far-right party National Association will not participate in the future government of the new Prime Minister Michel Barnier. This is what its de facto leader Marine Le Pen said, LCI reported on Thursday, September 5.
“The National Rally will not participate in any government Mr. Barnier is not one of our creatures,” he said in response to a question about whether the party will participate in the government of the new prime minister.
According to Le Pen, Barnier meets at least one criterion that his party has put forward for the French prime minister – “he respects the different political forces and is able to cooperate with the National Rally.”
We remind you that today President Emmanuel Macron announced the appointment of conservative Michel Barnier, a former European Commissioner and EU negotiator on Brexit, as the new Prime Minister.
The former head of the French government is Gabriel Attal. He resigned after parliamentary elections in which Macron’s party failed to win a majority.
