The Russians hit the partially destroyed building of the Institute of Communications, a hospital and several houses in Poltava with two ballistic missiles. More than 50 people died and 271 people were injured.
The Russian missile attack in Poltava did not change the policy of the United States regarding giving Ukraine the capabilities and permission to strike deep into Russian territory. General Patrick Ryder, spokesman for the US Department of Defense, said this on Tuesday, September 3, writes Ukrinform.
Thus, answering the question of journalists whether the latest missile attack by the Russian Federation in Poltava pushed the US leadership to the decision to give Ukraine the ability to strike the Russian Federation with long-range weapons, Ryder said: ” Regarding our policy regarding strikes against Russian targets at long distances. I have not yet announced any changes to our policy.”
At the same time, he assured that the United States, together with its allies and partners, will continue to provide Ukraine with anti-aircraft weapons.
Let’s remember that on September 3, the Russians attacked Poltava, preliminary, with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles. The enemy entered an educational institution and a hospital. One of the buildings of the Institute of Communications, a hospital and nearby houses were partially destroyed.
As of 18:00, 51 people had died and more than 200 were injured. There may be about 15 people under the rubble.
