On Thursday, June 30, during a meeting of the Lviv City Council, a decision was made to ban the activities of the MP in the city. The activities of the Moscow Patriarchate in Ukraine bear an anti-state and anti-Ukrainian character. Yuriy Lomaga, a deputy of the Lviv City Council, announced this on Facebook.
We are talking about deliberate and open speculation on the religious beliefs of our citizens by Russian infidels, in particular, with regard to the activities on the territory of Ukraine of the UOC-MP and the Ukrainian orthodox Greek Catholic Church “Group of Caught up”, which leads to artificial confrontation and split of Ukrainian society into religious basis. , said the MP.
Recall that on May 27, a Council was held in the St. Panteleimon Convent of Feofaniya in Kyiv under the chairmanship of the head of the UOC-MP, Metropolitan Onuphry. The Ukrainian Orthodox Church made a decision on the “complete independence and independence” of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church from the Russian, but “with the preservation of spiritual communion.”
The Council even condemned the war in Ukraine and asked to continue peace talks between Ukraine and the Russian Federation. In addition, the MP expressed disagreement with the position of Patriarch Kirill regarding the Russian-Ukrainian war.
