Germany transfers new air defense system to Ukraine

The Ukrainian military also received a batch of 155 mm shells, various drones and other weapons.

The German government has given a new package of military aid to Ukraine. This time, Kyiv will receive the IRIS-T air defense system. The press service of the German government reported this on Sunday, September 1.

According to the department, the new aid package includes:

  • IRIS-T SLS;

  • 26 Vector reconnaissance drones;

  • recovery vehicle Bergepanzer 2;

  • six engineering excavators;

  • 14,000 155 mm shells;

  • 10 unmanned surface ships;

  • 55,000 first aid kits;

  • rifles.

Earlier, it was reported that the current budget planning of the German federal government does not provide new funds to support Ukraine. The opposition is talking about a financial freeze and then military support for Kyiv.

After that, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry responded with German assistance.
