In Ukraine, they will change the approach to developing dry rations for military personnel, based on the soldiers’ religious, medical and ethical considerations. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense on August 28.
It was noted that as part of this initiative, a significant expansion of the range of dry rations is planned, which will provide the military with a variety of products, in particular plant-based, kosher and halal sets.
The new dry rations will be available to military personnel from December 2024, once the range development and approval process is completed.
It is also reported that the GOT, together with the Ministry of Defense, has already held consultations with representatives of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Islamic and Jewish communities, as well as public organizations Every Animal and UAnimals , who is working. in the field of animal rights protection, and market representatives.
According to the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Dmitry Klimenkov, the Defense Ministry is working hard to create conditions in which every defender of Ukraine will be comfortable and confident.
“We know that many members of the military come from different faith traditions or have special dietary needs, so we actively work with faith communities and nutrition experts. We also understand the moral importance of choices, so plant-based food rations will be an important part of our new strategy is not only a nutritional issue, but also respect for the beliefs of each fighter,” he said.
It was previously reported that the State Logistics Operator has reached an agreement with suppliers to provide food to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 13 sectors covering the whole of Ukraine.
