The Pentagon is now only considering measures that could be implemented as soon as possible.
In the US, 800 companies submitted 1,300 proposals for the manufacture of innovative weapons for Ukraine. This was announced on Thursday, June 30, by CNN, citing a source.
It was noted that the Pentagon intends in the coming weeks to decide on the ideas of a possible production of weapons for Ukraine, as well as for the US military.
Pentagon measures should include weapon capabilities for air defense, anti-tank, anti-personnel, coastal defense, anti-tank warfare, unmanned aerial systems, counter-batteries, and secure communications, defined as key to Ukraine’s military needs.
The publication states that the U.S. Department of Defense is only looking for manufacturers who can implement projects within 30 days or more complex projects within 180 days.
It will be recalled that on May 9, US President Joe Biden signed the law on lend-lease for Ukraine. The Ukrainian side will be able to rent military equipment and weapons, and pay for them after the victory against Russia, or simply return the surviving equipment.
