A powerful explosion occurred on August 26 at an oil refinery in Omsk, Russian Federation.
After this, a large fire broke out at the Gazpromneft-ONPZ plant, which is located 2 thousand km from the border with Ukraine. The area of the fire is 1 thousand square meters. 15 fire brigades were sent to the site, but they are not going to evacuate the workers. This was reported by Russian public groups.
It is preliminarily known that the explosion and fire occurred at the AVT-11 unit. Two people were injured as a result of the fire at the plant; they received medical assistance on the spot.
As is known, the Omsk Oil Refinery is one of the largest oil refining enterprises in Russia. This plant is located in the city of Omsk and belongs to the Gazprom Neft company. The facility employs 3,600 people. This refinery produces about 50 types of oil products – high-octane gasoline, diesel and marine fuel, aviation kerosene, bitumen, household gas, technical sulfur and other products. These products are used, in particular, by the Russian army.
Let us recall that on August 22, a major fire with explosions occurred in the Russian port of Kavkaz, because a Ukrainian missile hit the ferry Conro Trader, which was carrying 30 rail tankers with fuel. Then the ferry sank. It was the last of the ferries transporting oil from Novorossiysk to Crimea.
