In the event of a violation of the state border, Ukraine will take “all necessary measures to implement the right of self-defense guaranteed by the UN Charter.”
The armed forces of the Republic of Belarus, under the guise of exercises, concentrate a significant number of personnel, including special forces, weapons and military equipment, including tanks, artillery, MLRS, systems of air defense and engineering equipment, in the Gomel region near the northern border of Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday, August 25.
The presence of mercenaries from the former PMC Wagner is recorded separately.
The department warned that conducting exercises on the border and near the nuclear power plant, the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, creates threats to the national security of Ukraine and the general security of the world.
“We urge the officials of the Republic of Belarus not to make tragic mistakes for their own country under pressure from Moscow, and its armed forces to stop unfriendly actions and withdraw the troops from the border of the state of Ukraine at a distance that exceeds the range of fire systems that exist in the Republic of Belarus, we note that Ukraine will never and will not take any unfriendly action against those Belarusian people,” the message said.
At the same time, in the event of a violation of the state border, Ukraine will take “all necessary measures to implement the right of self-defense guaranteed by the UN Charter.”
It was also noted that all concentrations of troops, military facilities and supply routes on the territory of Belarus will be “legitimate targets” for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Earlier it was reported that Belarus was “forced” to move almost a third of its army to the Ukrainian border.
We remind you that the representative of the State Border Service of Ukraine, Colonel Andrey Demchenko, said that the situation on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border remains stable. Unusual actions in the form of DRG work or other provocations on the part of Belarus were not recorded.
