The information helped Ukrainian troops track the movement of Russian reinforcements, which could attack the Ukrainian Armed Forces or cut off their possible retreat into Ukraine.

The United States and Great Britain provided Ukraine with satellite images and intelligence data in the Kursk region after the start of the offensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The New York Times writes about this with reference to American officials.

The information helped Ukrainian troops track the movement of Russian reinforcements, which could attack the Ukrainian Armed Forces or cut off their possible retreat into Ukraine.

Some sources said that with the strengthening of the control of the defense forces in the western part of Russia, the risk of overloading the logistics chain and air defense system of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is increasing. The transfer of additional forces to the Kursk region could threaten to weaken Kyiv’s position on the front lines in eastern Ukraine.

While Washington is not sure that Ukraine will remain in the occupied territories for a long time. At the same time, a Pentagon representative said in a commentary to the NYT that Kyiv may be planning to strengthen its position on Russian territory in order to expand the buffer zone.

Officials also emphasized that the offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was indeed carefully planned, however, the success still exceeded expectations.

“Ukraine took advantage of Moscow’s slow reaction and is now acting more flexibly,” the sources stressed.

As you know, in early August, Ukraine launched a military operation in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. The Armed Forces of Ukraine control more than 1250 square meters. km of territory and more than 90 settlements in the Kursk region.

In the past, Ukraine’s partners announced that Ukraine planned the operation on its own.
