President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed citizens on Ukraine’s Independence Day.
The aggressor country Russia launched a full-scale invasion 913 days ago. The enemy sought to destroy the Ukrainians, but today they celebrate the 33rd Independence Day. And what the enemy brought to the Ukrainian land has now returned to his home. This is stated in a video address that the President’s Office published on YouTube.
And whoever wanted to turn our lands into a buffer zone must believe that his country will not become a buffer federation. This is how independence responds. It pays for our peaceful citizens, who are being targeted by KABs and daggers, for our gray-haired parents, for our children forced to study underground. For all our people who would prefer never to know the names of these damned places: Savasleyka, Olenya, Engels. But, unfortunately, Ukrainians know them. And therefore our enemy will know what retribution is in Ukrainian. Dignified, symmetrical, long-range. He will know that sooner or later a Ukrainian response will arrive at every point in Russia that is a source of danger to the life of our state and our people, – the head of state noted.
According to the president, 33 years ago Ukraine was reborn on the world maps, and today it is conquering the hearts of the entire world. On every continent they are now saying: Ukraine must win.
Zelensky stressed that Ukrainians need peace and quiet on their lands. He recalled that citizens will stand along the entire 6,992 km long Ukrainian border.
As our warriors do. In all directions of the front and the state border, which is personified by border posts. And our freedom and struggle are symbolized by our people – our defenders, our supports. Those on whose shoulders Ukraine rests, the address says.
The president also added that “the sick old man from Red Square, constantly threatening everyone with the red button, will not dictate his red lines to us.” He emphasized that only Ukraine and Ukrainians will determine how they will live, which path to take and what choice to make.
