Google has released a doodle dedicated to Ukraine’s Independence Day.
Today’s blue and yellow doodle is dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of this national holiday. It was on August 24, 1991, that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Act of Declaration of Independence of Ukraine and the country became a sovereign democratic state. This was reported by Google.
The 33rd anniversary of independence is a recognition of the resilience of the Ukrainian people and gratitude for all who have sacrificed for the nation in the past and present, the company said in its microblog.
Google noted that today is the time to appreciate Ukrainian culture and heritage. They emphasized that one of these symbols is the country’s two-color flag, which can be seen in today’s doodle. The flag represents huge golden fields of wheat with a blue sky above the head of Ukraine.
Let us recall that on August 23, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated Ukrainians on the Day of the State Flag. And yesterday, the historical banner of Independence of Ukraine was brought into the session hall of the Verkhovna Rada.
