Latvia prepared the largest batch of drones from its manufacturers for transfer to Ukraine – 1,400 drones. This was announced by the Minister of Defense of the Baltic country Andris Spruds on the social network X on Friday, August 23.
“Thus, the Ministry of Defense completed the purchase of more than 2,700 drones from the Latvian industry for Ukraine,” he wrote.
According to Spruds, in total, within the framework of the international drone coalition, Latvia has already transferred 3 thousand combat drones of various types to Ukraine.
The minister stressed that Latvia will continue to support Ukraine until victory.
Let’s recall that in June, Britain and Latvia announced the first tender for drones for Ukraine. The competition is to select manufacturers who can provide drones on a large scale and at an affordable price.
In July, it became known that Latvia and Germany will jointly buy drones for Ukraine.
