Half of pharmacies in Ukraine have closed because of the war – WHO

In Ukraine, due to active fighting, half of pharmacies are not working, and the medical supply chain is also disrupted.

Because of the war, almost half of pharmacies in Ukraine did not work: many pharmacists stopped or could not perform their duties. This was reported by the World Health Organization in Twitter.

Also, many health care workers may be homeless or unable to work.

According to the WHO, medical supply chains have been disrupted due to active fighting, which poses a severe threat to people with chronic and chronic diseases that require regular treatment and courses of medication.

Earlier it was reported that prices for medicines are expected to increase in Ukraine. The Ukrainian pharmaceutical industry is dependent on imports – about 90% of the active ingredients for medicines are purchased abroad. In addition, the cost of medicines is affected by currency changes and inflation.
