The process of Ukraine’s accession to the European Union will not be easy and will affect the interests of both Ukraine and the European Union.
Ukraine may become a member of the European Union by the end of this decade or early next. Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski announced this on Wednesday, August 21, in an interview with Espresso.
According to him, the length of Ukraine’s path to the EU depends on a number of factors. In particular, it depends on what the situation will be at the front, because the country’s budget capabilities also depend on it.
In addition, as Sikorsky noted, what is also important is how quickly Ukraine will carry out reforms and implement the implementation of European legislation, translate several thousand pages of European legislation into Ukrainian and vote in the Rada.
According to Sikorsky, Ukraine will play a major role in the economy of the European Union, and will also receive many seats in the European Parliament and the Council of Europe.
“The European Union will also change under your influence,” the minister said.
The EU and the US are ready to help Ukraine develop the Ukraine Plan – a document with a list of reforms and priorities for recovery. Its main goal is to help bring our country closer to joining the EU.
