A bus carrying Shiite pilgrims was involved in an accident in Iran. At least 28 people died and 23 others were injured. The Associated Press reported this on August 21, citing a representative of Iran’s emergency services.
It is known that the accident happened at night in Yazd province in central Iran.

As is known, pilgrims are heading to Iraq from Pakistan to participate in Arbaeen – a procession in memory of Imam Hussein and his companions who died in the Battle of Karbala in 680. In 2024, Arbaeen will be held on August 25- 26.
