In Russia, the following troop groups will be created: “Belgorod”, “Kursk” and “Bryansk”.
This was stated by Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov at a meeting of the Coordination Council on military security issues in border areas.
According to him, the commanders of these groups and the representative of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces will be responsible for “protecting citizens and territories from attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles and other means of attack.” Who will lead these groups is not specified.
Previously, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported only on the activities of Russian troop groups fighting in Ukraine.
Since August 6, the Ukrainian military has been conducting an offensive operation in the border areas of the Kursk region. A federal state of emergency has been declared in the region. Since August 10, a counter-terrorist operation has been in effect in the Kursk, Belgorod and Bryansk regions.
