The head of the American banking holding Morgan Stanley International (commercial bank), Jonathan Bloomer, and the lawyer of one of the largest law firms in the world, Clifford Chance, Chris Morvillo, disappeared due to the Bayesian yacht accident near the Island of Italy of Sicily. The BBC reported it.
The head of Sicily’s civil protection agency, Salvatore Cocina, said Bloomer and Morvillo were among the six missing.
There were 22 people on board the 56-meter Bayesian – British, American and Canadian. Fifteen people were rescued, including a one-year-old British girl.
The Sicilian Civil Defense also confirmed that the body of the ship’s cook has been found.
One of the missing passengers was Mike Lynch, one of Britain’s most famous technology entrepreneurs, known as “Britain’s Bill Gates.”
The British-flagged yacht with 10 crew and 12 passengers sank on Monday, August 19, outside the port of Porticello, east of the Sicilian capital Palermo.
Survivors said Lynch arranged the trip for his colleagues.
The Coast Guard said divers were inspecting the Bayesian wreckage, which was at a depth of 49 meters.
