The Russian air attack was repelled by Ukrainian air defenders last night.
On the night of August 20, the enemy attacked with two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Voronezh region, an Iskander-K cruise missile from the Bryansk region, and Kh-59 guided air missiles from the airspace of the Kursk and Zaporozhye regions. The Ukrainian Air Force reported on Telegram.
In addition, the enemy launched 26 Shahed-type attack UAVs from the Russian Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Yeisk and Kursk bases.
The anti-aircraft battle continued within the Kyiv, Dnepropetrovsk, Nikolaev, Kherson, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytsky, Kirovohrad, Sumy and Chernihiv regions. Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and electronic warfare units were involved.
We managed to shoot down 28 air targets:
- the Iskander-K cruise missile,
- two guided aircraft missiles X-59,
- 25 Shahed-131/136 attack UAVs.
Let us recall that at night the occupiers attacked the capital with attack UAVs and cruise missiles. The Kyiv City Military Administration assured that all targets were destroyed by air defense.
