Long Range Strike Authorizations are a key defense solution that will support our warfighters. And this concerns the work, first of all, of Ukrainian diplomats.
President Volodymyr Zelensky called on Ukrainian diplomats to work to ensure that Western partners extend permission to use the long-range weapons they have transferred for strikes on Russian territory. The head of state mentioned this on Monday, August 19, at a meeting of heads of foreign diplomatic institutions of Ukraine, the press service of OP reports.
According to Zelensky, if the West did not establish restrictions on the use of weapons on the territory of Russia, “we would not need physical entry, in particular, into the Kursk region in order to protect our Ukrainian citizens on the border and destroy Russia’s potential for aggression.”
“Russian military bases and Russian military airports, Russian logistics and other military facilities, the presence of which allows Putin to avoid the search for peace, are perfectly fair targets for our defense forces,” he stressed.
Zelensky added that Ukraine needs sufficient range to defend against Russian missiles and guided bombs, as well as the movement of Russian troops and pressure on key front-line areas.
“Now this is a major protective decision that should support our soldiers And it concerns the work, first of all, of our diplomats, you and other representatives of Ukraine in America, Great Britain, France, Germany and also in those countries capable of themselves or influencing partners to solve the issue of scope,” said Zelensky.
In his opinion, the reaction of the Russian authorities to the events in the Kursk region indicates that “there is no reasonable reason why we cannot be really strong, really distant.”
We remind you that the Pentagon explained the ban on strikes deep into the Russian Federation by the fact that Russia may respond to the crossing of “red lines” in the future.
