A Russian ship was spotted in the Mediterranean Sea, but it was not a launch vehicle, the Naval Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces noted.
Not a single enemy ship carrying Caliber cruise missiles was seen at 06:00, August 19, in the Black and Azov Seas. This was confirmed by the morning report of the Naval Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (VMS AFU) on Telegram.
At the same time, a Russian ship was recorded in the Mediterranean Sea. However, it is not a Caliber missile carrier, so there is no missile threat from the three seas.
The military reported that during the day, in the interest of Russia, the passage of the Kerch Strait was made by:
-
in the Black Sea – 7 ships, of which 6 are constantly moving towards the Bosphorus Strait;
-
in the Sea of Azov – 5 ships, 0 of which move from the Bosphorus Strait.
The Navy added that Russia continues to violate the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea 1974 (SOLAS) by disabling automatic identification systems (AIS).
Let’s recall that on August 2, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed the Russian submarine B-237 Rostov-on-Don, as well as the S-400 anti-aircraft missile system in Crimea.
The Navy has commented on Russia’s creation of a “replacement” for the sunken Rostov submarine
