Ukraine’s offensive should teach Russians that dictator Vladimir Putin is not the inimitable champion he makes himself out to be.
The operation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region could change the course of Russia’s war against Ukraine. This was said by the US Senator from Arizona Mark Kelly on the CBS television channel, reports Politco.
“130,000 Russians have been forced from their homes, and at this point in this conflict, I think the Ukrainians have done something unpredictable that could really change the course of this conflict,” Kelly said.
Answering the question of whether he was satisfied with the fact that American weapons are now being used on the territory of the Russian Federation, Kelly said that at the moment “he is not against it.”
“Ukrainians were illegally attacked by Vladimir Putin.
Kelly also supported calls for the White House to lift all restrictions on Ukraine’s use of American long-range weapons. He noted that some restrictions have been lifted, and the United States will continue to review the terms of its aid to Ukraine to meet its needs on the battlefield.
The American politician also emphasized that the offensive in Ukraine should teach Russians that dictator Vladimir Putin is not the inimitable champion he made himself out to be.
“He’s always tried to portray himself as someone who will protect Russia. I think his citizens are seeing the results of what he did in Ukraine, and they’re in some danger now,” Kelly said.
He also noted that he doesn’t think the Ukrainians want to intentionally hold on to Russian territory for a long time, “but it really surprised Putin.”
Earlier, the media reported that the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Alexander Syrsky, considered several scenarios for the invasion of Russia.
We remind you that the head of the military administration of the city of Sumy, Alexey Drozdenko, said that the offensive in the Kursk region is only the first stage of the operation.
