The Russians stopped their advance on the “road of life” and concentrated on taking Pokrovsk. After the fall of Avdeevka in February, Russian troops began advancing further to the northwest.
As Bild writes, they are threatening the T0504 highway, which is called the road to life, since it is the main supply route for the Ukrainian Armed Forces group in the Vremenny Yar area. The Russians have only 5 km left to the highway through the village of Vozdvizhenka.
But the Ukrainian Armed Forces have built a strong defense there and are successfully holding back the Russian Armed Forces. Therefore, the Russians have abandoned their offensive to the north on the highway and are advancing west to Pokrovsk, through which T0504 passes. The city once had a population of 80,000 people. Now it is an important logistics point for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The Russian Armed Forces have come 14 km closer to it: they have taken the villages of Lisichnoye and Ivanovka, and also entered Grodovka.
The Russians have not advanced in the direction from Novooleksandrivka for several months. The Ukrainians have built a very good defense there. However, the territory to the west has been occupied for the last 4-6 weeks. There they are advancing, naturally, in the direction of Pokrovsk, the next important city. It must be said that if they cannot cut the important logistical route to Vremen Yar, then it is “sufficiently” enough to capture Pokrovsk itself. Because the route will be useless if the city falls, says BILD open data analysis expert Julian Repke.
