At the meeting, Vladimir Putin was informed about 28 settlements in the Kursk region “under enemy control.”
Ukraine’s armed forces control 28 settlements in Russia’s Kursk region. Acting Governor Alexey Smirnov reported this to Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin, RosSMI reported on Monday, August 12.
“The situation in the Kursk region is complicated, there are 28 settlements under the control of the enemy,” he said, noting that the length of the front is 12 km and the width is 40 km.
According to Smirnov, on August 12, about 121 thousand residents left the borders of the Kursk region.
However, local authorities have no information about the fate of approximately 2,000 people in these 28 communities.
Let’s recall that Putin called a meeting on the situation in the regions bordering Ukraine and ordered the Ministry of Defense to “squeeze the enemy” out of the Kursk region.
According to AFP, thousands of Ukrainian troops are participating in a military operation in the Kursk region of Russia.
