The Cabinet of Ministers today, August 12, dismissed Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Oleksandr Kheyla from his post.
The government press service reported this.
Earlier today, anti-corruption agencies reported that they had exposed a deputy energy minister taking a half-million dollar bribe, but did not disclose his identity.
The press service of the Ministry of Energy reported today that a submission had been submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers to dismiss the said official.
For the specified amount, the official, using his powers, promised the heads of state enterprises of the Lviv-Volyn coal basin to freely transfer mining equipment from the mines of the frontline region of Donbass for use, the Ministry of Energy noted.
We are talking about unique and scarce equipment of one of the state coal companies located within the eastern front – Pokrovsky, – the department added. – In addition to the deputy minister, several accomplices from the energy sector were involved in the said transaction, for which all persons involved will be held accountable.
The department noted that the disclosure of this corruption scheme was carried out with the assistance of the Minister of Energy.
