On the night of August 11, Moscow Nazis attacked Ukraine with four KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Voronezh region and 57 Shahed-type attack UAVs from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Yeisk, Kursk regions – RF.
The occupiers also attacked the city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast, presumably with rocket artillery.
As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, aviation, anti-aircraft missile units and air defense assets of the Air Force shot down 53 enemy UAVs in Mykolaiv, Odessa, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Kherson, Kyiv, Zaporizhia, Sumy and Rivne regions.
PS Commander Nikolai Oleshchuk noted that North Korean ballistic KN-23s, although they rarely achieve their desired targets, pose a serious threat to the population.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Russians used a North Korean missile for the night terrorist attack on Kyiv.
This night in the Kyiv region, a father and his little son, unfortunately, died as a result of a Russian strike – the child was four years old. My condolences to the family and friends. Three more people were injured, including a child – a 12-year-old boy. According to preliminary information, the Russians used a North Korean missile, and this was another deliberate terrorist attack against Ukraine. Pyrotechnicians continue to work to establish the exact data on this missile, – the president reported on his social networks.
According to his information, only a week later the Russian army struck with over 30 missiles and over 800 guided air bombs. The Russians have no geographical restrictions on the use of such weapons – from the first days of a full-scale war, the entire territory of our state has been under constant threat of attacks.
Ukrainians are grateful to all our partners who help with air defense systems and combat aircraft. But to really stop Russian terror, we need not only a full-fledged air shield that will protect all our cities and communities, but also strong decisions from partners – decisions that will remove restrictions on our defensive actions. If Ukrainian range has no limits, this war will definitely get a limit – we will really bring its fair end closer, – the president said.
