The war-torn city of Vremen Yar in Donetsk Oblast was shown on video.
There have been fierce battles with Russian occupiers for this city in Donetsk Oblast for a long time. Ukrainian soldiers from the 18th National Guard Brigade showed what the settlement looks like. The NGU reported this on Facebook on August 10.
This is what Chasov Yar, a city near Slavyansk, looks like today. The city, which for a year now, after the great defense of Bakhmut, the enemies have been destroying to the ground, – the report says.
The guards emphasized that every building in the destroyed city, which the military affectionately calls “Little Clock,” is proof of the inhuman nature of the enemy.
As is known, after the occupation of Bakhmut in May 2023, the occupiers continued moving towards Vremenny Yar. Since then, this city has suffered from enemy shelling. In 2024, the Russians approached the outskirts of Vremenny Yar, and fierce fighting continues there.
Let us recall that the Ukrainian military reported that the Kanal microdistrict in Vremenny Yar was completely wiped out as a result of military actions. The command decided that its further maintenance in ruins and problems with logistics would only increase losses, so they withdrew troops from the microdistrict.
And on August 9, the American Institute for the Study of War stated that Ukrainian troops had recently recaptured a number of positions near the town of Chasiv Yar.
