The suspect demanded 5 thousand dollars from a citizen brought in for verification of military records.
In the Ternopil region, a 43-year-old military man was detained who, for $5,000, helped a citizen leave TCC territory and avoid administrative responsibility. This was reported by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Defense of the Western Region.
It was learned that the suspect demanded 5 thousand dollars from a citizen who was brought in for verification of military records. For this money, he had to influence his colleagues and help the man leave TCC territory. And also to help ensure that the person responsible for military service will not receive combat summons and will not be held administratively responsible for untimely updating of documents.
After receiving the full amount, the suspect was detained. Prosecutors filed a motion in court to impose a preventive measure against him. The detainee faces from 3 to 8 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The Ternopil TCC SP commented on this detention, saying that they will be purged of those who destroy the Armed Forces of Ukraine by their actions.
“The leadership of the Ternopil Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support will continue to oppose the shameful manifestations of corruption and bribery in its subordinate units. We ask all citizens, in order to avoid such cases, to immediately report to us all such facts and law enforcement agencies,” said the public communication service of Ternopil OTTSKiSP.
We remind you that a scheme of corruption organized by the chief state inspector of one of the customs posts was exposed in Odessa customs.
