In Russia today, August 8, in the morning, the YouTube video hosting service stopped opening on computers and mobile devices.
This was reported by the DTF publication, citing data from services that track the availability of websites on the Internet.
It is noted that users cannot watch videos or leave comments. Also, videos do not load in the Android YouTube mobile application of the mobile operator MTS, although earlier the Russian authorities stated that the restrictions will not affect the mobile version of YouTube for now.
Other countries were not affected by this outage with access to YouTube.
Problems with YouTube in Russia have been observed in recent weeks. Earlier, Russian media reported that the authorities were planning to significantly limit the speed of access to the video hosting service in order to make using YouTube in Russia uncomfortable.
“So that it opens, but brings pain” – in Russia, by order of the authorities, YouTube is being significantly slowed down
