Representatives of a private military company confirmed that they will return to Russia – to the Kursk region.
Mercenaries of the Russian private military company Wagner were transferred to the Kursk region to fight the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This was reported by the Russian media in connection with “military officials”.
In particular, the Russian “military sulator” Yegor Guzenko published a video recording of the mercenaries, signing it with the words: “Did I say that there will be good news So here are the fighters of Wagner PMC … I will tell you about more surprises soon.”
In the video, PMC representatives confirmed that they will return to Russia – to the Kursk region. “We will come soon, but we have fire extinguishers,” said one of the militants.
The Baza Telegram channel, with reference to other Russian “military officials”, writes that now the part of Sudzha, where the shooting battles are taking place, is under the control of Ukraine. The battle line runs through the dam area.
We remind you that the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed the advance of the Ukrainian military in two districts of the Kursk region and said that it moved reserves to the border and fired Ukrainian Armed Forces from aviation. The Russians used reserves, missile forces, aviation, and artillery.
On August 7, information appeared in the media that the Ukrainian Armed Forces took control of the Sudzha gas measuring station in the Kursk region of Russia.
The Sudzha gas metering station is a key facility for supplying Russian gas to Europe via Ukraine. Today it is the only point where Russian gas enters Ukraine for its transport to Europe.
Amid the fighting in the Kursk region, gas prices in Europe jumped 5.5% to 38.7 euros/MWh ($445 per 1,000 cubic meters), the highest level since December 2023.
