NATO countries at the summit in Madrid identified Russia as the most important and direct threat to Alliance security. This is indicated in NATO’s new strategic concept.

The document is valid until 2030. In the previous version of the concept, published in 2010, Russia was called a partner.

“The Russian Federation is the most important and immediate threat to the security of the allies, as well as to peace and stability in the Euro-Atlantic region,” the document said.

It was noted that NATO will respond to Russia’s hostile actions, strengthening the defense of all allies.

It will be recalled that NATO is ready to return to consideration on the issue of Ukraine’s entry after its victory in the war with Russia.

Earlier it was reported that Stoltenberg called the summit historic – Finland and Sweden are invited to membership, and Russia will receive the status of “threat”.
