Russian war criminals used these North Korean weapons twice: in February and late July.
On Wednesday, July 31, the Russian invaders tried to strike the Kiev region with a North Korean KN-23 ballistic missile. However, it did not reach the target, reports the Ukrainian specialized publication Defense Express.
The rocket flew in the direction of Bila Tserkva and fell in the Kyiv region. A possible reason for this could be an explosion in the air, the media believe.
The publication said that debris with markings applied to the KN-23 was found at the crash site of the rocket. The aggressor country has already used such missiles to attack Ukraine in early 2024.
The media remember that the last time Russia used KN-23 ballistic missiles to attack Ukraine was recorded on February 27, 2024.
The DPRK ballistic missiles used by Russia are equipped with a high-explosive warhead, which yields up to 1000 kilograms of TNT.
The maximum range of the KN-23 is 650 km.
As you know, on June 19, the leaders of Russia and DPRK Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un signed an agreement on a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
