On the night of August 5, the occupiers launched Shahed-type attack UAVs from the Russian regions of Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Kursk. All 24 enemy drones were destroyed by Ukrainian defenders. The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Telegram.
It is noted that anti-aircraft missile units and electronic warfare systems operated in the Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Kirovograd, Kharkov, Sumy, Poltava and Dnepropetrovsk regions.
Recall that the GUR stated that Russia is launching drones made of plywood and foam plastic into Ukraine. These UAVs do not carry explosives, fly in groups and are very similar to the Shaheds. Russia’s new drones probably cost only $10,000 each, making them much cheaper to produce than air defense missiles.
